During the cycling tour one will cycle along the ancient castles and temples, follow the road to queen Tamar's bridge dated back to XIIc, enjoy beautiful sceneries of Tedzami river valley and cycle to explore more of Georgian Nature by visiting Algeti National park founded in 1965 and don't forget historical monuments of Drisi fortress and Rkoni monastery complex .

Detailed description of the tour

In the morning the off-road cycling tour starts with the departure from Tbilisi. Cycling starts from village Akhaltsikhe castle ruins (through old Kartli region 50 km west from Tbilisi). The route goes up to the stream of Tedzami river. After crossing little narrow wooden bridge you’ll pass picturesque Drisi Castle hanging from above.

Further on, during the Off-Road Cycling tour, by crossing the river through the canyon you’re entering Algeti national park that is

located at Tetritskaro district. (1.100 -1.950 m) above the sea level.

After Crossing one more water stream you’ll appear at Rkoni village where route follows the trail towards ancient Rkoni monastery complex (VII century) and old stone bridge.

During the centuries complex was renovated and changed several times and nowadays it attracts visitors with wild nature and beautiful location.

In the cycling tour on the way back, the trail follows a different path: ascending to low Green mountain pass (1030m). From the highest point of the cross, one can find the beautiful view on river Mtkvari gorge and in good weather even high range of Great Caucasus.

Afterward descending to gathering point where is the ending point of a cycling tour.

All the way to and back from Rkoni complex old temples and ruins of fortifications accompanies the

cycles.
